For the first time ever, an Australasia girls Gaelic football team will travel to Ireland to compete at Féile Peile na nÓg – one of the world’s most prestigious youth Gaelic games tournaments.
The U15 girls team, featuring players from Young Melbourne GAA club (Victoria) and the Gaelic Games Junior Academy of WA, will take the field in Derry on Saturday 27 June for a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity to represent our region.
Cormac and Zane spoke with members of the squad and coaching team about the excitement of the upcoming trip, what it means to wear the Australasia colours, and the fundraising efforts helping make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible.
The programme also highlights how the Irish community can support these talented young athletes as they prepare to take on teams from across Ireland and beyond.
