Saturday’s show brought together music, stories and connections from Ireland and across the diaspora.

The programme featured new music from Central Australian musician Alison Mapleson - her beautiful recording of Siúil a Rún, Fontaines D.C.'s Favourite in memory of the band's late manager Trevor Dietz, the evocative emigrant ballad Kilkelly, Amble’s epic Mary’s Pub, and the haunting And For Ireland I'll Not Speak Her Name from Owen and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin.

Along the way we explored Maggie O'Farrell's new novel Land, heard a message and two great song requests from Eamon Spillane in Kerry, celebrated volunteers who keep Irish culture alive around the world, and shared dedications for friends, family and members of our Irish community.

It was a morning of music, memory, place and belonging, finishing in fine style with, Kitty O'Neill's Champion Pub from Eamonn Coyne and Kris Drever.

Go raibh mille maith agat to Angela on the phones.
