What does the Irish bog smell like? Find out at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in a multi-sensory performance which transports you to the Irish bog landscape through scent.

Longford’s Luke Casserly has collaborated with renowned perfumer Joan Woods to create a unique essence of the Midlands bog - the place where he grew up - as the starting point for an olfactory encounter exploring our relationship to place. Created in direct response to the closure of Ireland’s peat harvesting industry, “Distillation” is dedicated to the future of our broken landscapes - in the hope that by listening to them, we might be able to better understand them.

“Distillation” runs from Thursday 1st – Sunday 4th October at Abbotsford Convent Industrial School, 1 St. Helier’s St. in Abbotsford, and there are a variety of afternoon and evening performance options. Tickets range from $10 - $28 and are available at the Melbourne Fringe Festival website: melbournefringe.com.au.
